Vader Immortal is a VR lightsaber game set in the Star Wars universe from ILMxLAB. The game is broken up into three chapters and follows the story of a smuggler who unwillingly finds himself in the employ of Darth Vader.

Though it’s not the only VR Star Wars game or the only VR game with lightsabers, Vader Immortal is an immersive experience that is currently the closest you can come to feeling like a true Jedi. It’s up for debate which Star Wars VR game is best, but Vader Immortal literally puts the power of a lightsaber and the Force in the palm of your hand.

It’s not hard to come across a VR game with swords and lightsabers, but you may be hard-pressed to find one that mixes excellent lightsaber gameplay with cinematic storytelling in such terrific fashion. For any die-hard Star Wars fan, the game is a must-play.

Vader Immortal Episode Breakdown

Episode I

The game’s first chapter has you stepping into the shoes of a smuggler who wandered a little too close to the planet Mustafar, home to none other than Darth Vader himself. After being pulled out of hyperspace and captured along with your trusty droid, you’re forced by the infamous Sith lord to unravel a mystery for him.

From there, players will traverse the dark and dangerous paths of Vader’s fortress, all while perfecting their lightsaber talents, in order to find out what it is that Vader is looking for.

Episode II

Picking up where Episode I left off, the next installment in the series has players further exploring the labyrinth of Vader’s fortress while uncovering more secrets along the way. Players will continue to learn the ways of the lightsaber and the Force, only this time with Darth Vader himself as their tutor.

And his lessons aren’t for the faint of heart.

Episode III

In Episode III, players will finish their journey in a galaxy far, far away. Armed with a lightsaber and newfound Force abilities, you’ll bring the fight to Vader in an attack on his fortress. Cutting down scores of stormtroopers that stand in your way, you’ll ultimately have to come face-to-face with Vader in a lightsaber duel for the fate of the galaxy.
